Boutique Vineyard Accommodation

Dreaming of a quiet getaway?

Get a taste of the good life. Book in for a weekend at one of our two luxury cottages, and take things at a country pace. Go for a walk in the state forest, just out your back door and over the fence. Borrow our mountain bikes for a ride on the Bendigo Winery Cycling Trail. Or just take in the views over the vineyard as you sip on a glass of wine on the back verandah.

The bright lights of Bendigo are fifteen minutes away and  -- with the cafes and shops in the city’s laneways, the Bendigo Art Gallery snagging fantastic international exhibitions, and the heritage of the region’s goldrush celebrated in beautiful 19th century architecture and the new Chinese precinct – there is certainly much to tempt you there. But in the evening, when you return to the wide, starry skies here at Sandhurst Ridge, you’ll understand why we believe we have something pretty special here.

We’ve named our two cottages in honour of Lina and Teo Greblo, who left Trieste after WWII to raise their family in Bendigo. When their sons planted Sandhurst Ridge in 1989, they were delighted to see the winegrowing tradition they brought from Italy take root here in their new land.

From the outside, the cottages have a real Aussie flavour. But step inside and you’ll be surprised at the ambience. Raked ceilings and stylish modern fixtures and furniture give the interior a lofty yet cosy feel. Each cottage features a bedroom and ensuite, and an open living area of lounge and kitchenette.  Sleep soundly in a splendid queen bed with a duracoil deluxe mattress, or fluff up the pillows and watch a late movie on the LCD tv. Or you may choose to watch a dvd on the tv in the lounge, or simply relax on the leather sofa with a good book.

Enjoy breakfast at your leisure. You’ll find the fridge stocked with eggs, bacon, milk and juice, with bread, cereals, coffee & tea along side. An electric Italian coffee maker brews up a serious cup. Lina would have loved one of these!

If you’ve shopped in town for some local sausages or produce, there’s a barbecue on the back verandah that will do them proud. The family of ducks on the pond might just come up to check out what’s on offer. Other than that, you’re on your own.

All of this, and a guided tasting of the current release of Sandhurst Ridge wines (plus a few back vintages) only steps away.  We hope you’ll book today and enjoy some of the magic here.
